ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing Syllabus

The ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing syllabus examines up to level K4* of the software testing learning objectives / levels of knowledge and covers the following areas:

* K4 (Bloom’s Taxonomy) – Analysis: Breaking down information into components, examining organisational links to make conclusions by identifying motives or causes, making inferences, and/or finding evidence to support generalisations.

ISEB Intermediate Software Testing Exam

Structure of the exam

The examination will test candidates' ability to apply testing principles to practical settings, as defined in the syllabus.

To verify that candidates have made the transition in thinking from problem solving at Foundation level to that required at Practitioner level, the Intermediate examination uses scenario based questions structured in multiple choice format.

The examination is a one hour scenario based multiple choice. The time allowed is 1 hour, and the pass mark is 60%.

Candidates must pass the Intermediate examination in order to sit either of the Practitioner examinations.

How do I book my ISEB Intermediate exam?

If you do your training through ILX Group, the exam will be included in the price of your course. If you attend a classroom course the exam will be taken on the last day of the course. If you use an ILX Group e-learning course then you will be given an exam voucher to be used within 12 months of the purchase price of the package.
